I have managed to find from Scotlands People the birth certificate for my gg Uncles and Aunts from the marriage of Andrew Ballantyne and Maria Millar (married 12th Oct 1865). My gg father was Andrew their first born 27th June 1866 but I can't find his birth certificate. I have them for this 6 siblings, William, John, James, Ann, Margaret and Walter all born between 1868 and 1880.
It seems strange that his is the only one I can't find him, they where all born in Galashiels.

Thanks I have his date of birth etc, however can't find the copy of his birth certificate in Scottish People's web site, have found all his siblings birth certificates (originals).

Have you checked the birth cert for Andrew Ballantyne 1866 Hawick, Roxburgh.

Thanks for all the advise, search under all parishes to make sure. There is a Andrew Ballantyne born in 1866 but this father and mother are both not correct, and he was born in Hawick.

The birth that Sharon has given you in an earlier post is correct Andrew BALLANTYNE with correct parents was born Ladhope 27th June 1866. Familysearch has transcribed it direct from the Statutory Registers.
Scotlandspeople has spelt his name ANDRW (note no 'E') so if you do a search as follows you should find him
ANDRW BALLANTYNE born 1866 ROXBURGH County, LADHOPE Reg District
Familysearch have transcribed Scottish births and marriages from 1855 to 1875 direct from the Statutory Registers which is very helpful. I find it easier to use the old Familysearch IGI.

From what Andy and Sharon have found, does look like Andrew's entry has been mis-indexed by SP. If you have spent many units trying to find this entry, I would mention this to SP and also ask for a correction (to help anyone researching this entry in the future).

Thanks for all you help, found it ;D I Had done wild card search on Ballantyne as that can input wrongly, but Andrew!
