I'm looking for Fissenden, Winter and Masters. in Birling, Kent. I have been told the grave yard in Birling has a lot of Fissendens. Is anyone in or around the area that could take some photos? I'm in New Zealand so the trip would take too long for me :)
Thanks

Hi Kellsnz,
I was in Birling churchyard a few months back. Wasn't looking for your surnames but seem to recall Fissenden at least.
Will return there for you as soon as weather is better - wet & dull over here!
Any names/dates in particular?

Hi,
Finally got to the churchyard but afraid it is not good news. Only found 1 Fissenden/Masters memorial! I know I have seen more Fissenden memorials than this somewhere, are you sure they were buried in Birling and not in the nearby parishes (perhaps Leybourne, Ryarsh, Snodland (part of which used to be referred to as Lower Birling) or Trottiscliffe? Will continue looking when on my visits!
Anyway the one memorial toa Fissenden is as follows:
In loving memory of Emma wife of Phillip Fissenden who died Oct 11 1874 age 27 years.
Have taken photos of this MI if it is relevant, please let me know.
Sorry for disappointment
