Please,Please,Please can someone help by doing a look up or something for me please? My Great Grandparents were Francis Boyle and Rose Montford or Mountford, both born in Ireland,Francis 1876 and Rose born 1873 according to the 1911 Glasgow sencus. They married in St Johns on Portugal St in 1901 and the place of residence was 94 King St Tradeston and 48 Franklin St Bridgeton on 1911 sencus.Children they had that i know of are Agnes 1901....Roseanne 1903.....John 1904 and my grandad who was Patrick James Boyle 1908.Please can someone help me find a birth record and burial record for my grandad please as i just cant seem to find one,i have been told to look to Ireland but the 1911 sencus says he was born in Glasgow and i have birth records for Glasgow for the others. My grandad died May 26 1946 Eglinton Lane Gorbals.I am also having trouble finding any trace of marriages for Agnes,Roseanne and John or any other info so can someone please help me? many thanks in advance.....Tommy Boyle. :'(

Hi Tommy, You wrote to me on Glasgow Guides, I couldn't help you then, but I have been at the Mitchell Library this week, I did a wee search for you, I take it you have the certs for Agnes, Rosanna and John? I found Agnes, Rosanna but not John, sadly I found a cert for the death of Rosanna, she ided on the 3rd May 1923 , 20 years old she was living at 48 Franklin Street Glasgow at the time, I found a cert for Patrick James Boyle for his Marr - 1935, and death 1946, I am assuming you have these, I have copied your details down, so any time I am at the Mitchell I will have a wee look, hope this helps you, only too pleased to help another Boyle

Hi Mary and thank you for the time you have taken to help me.I have all the information you have supplied apart from the death of Roseanne, can you remember what the cause of death was please? I also feel that John may have died young as he doesnt show up on the 1911 sencus at Franklin St.I did not know my gran or grandad so i know very little,i have found and visited my grans grave in Glasgow, she died in 2001 but i really would love to find my grandads grave,a photo of him,a birth record, any other brothers or sisters he may have had and i feel he may have been a bit of a rogue so my dad used to tell me, he only had vague memories of him so i would love to find any storys of him ie local newspaper cuttings of meyhem, drunk and disordaly etc lol.Other addresses i have for my grandad (Patrick James Boyle) are Naiburn St Gorbals on marriage cert in 1935.....1938ish South Portland St Gorbals and he died in Eglinton Lane Gorbals in 1946.Thank you again Mary,i must visit this library one day,all the best, you made my day....Tommy Boyle. :D

HI Tommy, Glad to be of help, Rosanna(on the birth cert) died of Phthisis, I looked it up and it is a wsting of the body, usuall caused by Tubeculosis or consumption, since doing my reaserch, I have come across quite a lot of deaths caused by this, are in Glasgow, if you were you could go to the Mitchell Library where you can look up the old papers, if you have a date, you might find your Grandad in the Obituary's

Thank you for your time Mary and the info you have found for me.I do not live in Glasgow but live 300 odd miles south in Leicester.During my research i came across two other children my gran had to a later marriage in the early 50s, they both live in Glasgow.Myself and my aunts have all met up with them and we are getting on very well with them but unfortunatly they had no knowledge of there mums passed and were just as surprised as us when i contacted them.Visits to Glasgow have been made a few times and i have been made to feel very welcome but i havnt got round to a visit to the mitchelle library yet, visits have been taken up with a few walks around the Gorbals with my new uncle pointing out where places once stood.I am sorry to ask you so many questions Mary but what cemetery would be the burial ground for Rosanna?.
