Post by: rachelralph on Saturday 15 October 11 16:51 BST (UK)
im wondering if anyone could do a look up for OZIAS LEE baptism abt 1832 in great gaddesden. im expecting his parents to be possibly george and elizabeth as this is whom he is living with in 1841. there are also children who's names i am sure are transcribed wrong in 1841 there too. if anyone would mind looking for them too?

they are transcribed as
EMANUEL aged 20
? AMON aged 15
? MEHALA aged 15
? LARY aged 12
ORCA (OZIAS) aged 10
GEORGE aged 5

also i cant find him 181 if anyone fancies a challange  ;)
many thanks in advance

i have the origanal image open in another tab and im wondering if mehala is actually hilda??? im starting to think hawker and plaiter may be right and then would that mean maybe they were gypsy's? who knows i can find them on any other census (apart from ozias) to follow the history

Possibly George was a Sawyer -as I think Lary/Lewy was Levi!!!!

1851
Albion Terrace Boxmoor hemel Hempstead herts
Levi Lee Head M 24 Sawyer Gaddesden Herts
Harriet wife 34 Laundress      do
HO107 1715 240 8

in 1861 they had 4 children (2 youngest were twins -I think)
surname transcribed as "Lea"

Wondering if you ever found a baptism record for Ozias?  It has just come to light in my research that his son, Frederick, probably attended the Baptist chapel in Frithsden.  I just learned that Baptists did not believe in infant baptism.
