Oh Dottty
How clever you are!!!!!!!!! ;D
I am just learning and I dont know how you did that but THANK YOU!!!
I sent for the Marriage cert for James so I know he married Alice Barton but I dont know how to go back further???? The marriage cert says his father was also James and was deceased. If I can find james' birth then could I send for that certificate and would that give me his mother?? I dont mind but its £9 a time.
I dont know how else to do it??

I saw that...and on next census she seems to be married again to a man called Harrison
I just dont want to go dont the wrong tree as I know how easy that can be..so any tips you can give me would be appreciated. :)

If this is the family Margaret was nee Entwistle do you know what James seniors occupation was? There was a child Mary born 1841
-
I have just received the death cert for James Norcross in 1881 and it was notified by his brother Henry Harrison...so we have the right family, Margaret Norcross must have remarried John Harrison.
She is a widow in 1851 and she has a son in 1855 John Harrison
So Joseph Norcross must have died between 1849 ( after the last child was born and 1855 when she was married again
I have searched for 3 hours and am really tired...can you help and find it for me with one of your tricks PLEASE ???

I have not seen it before. I pay for Ancestry but to be honest unless you know what your doing it isnt much help. It is good for the census' though.
Thank you very much. ;)

I just have one more question please
I would like to send for the marriage cert for Joseph Norcross and margaret Entwhistle. How can i do that if I cant find it on Ancestry?
Do you know any tricks to find the reference number?
-
There were no national indexes of BMD's before July 1837, The marriage of Joseph is in the parish register. So there will be no reference number to order a certificate.
Prior to 1837 the father of the bride and groom were not noted on the register.
This looks to be Josephs baptism:
15 Feb 1814 St Wilfrid, Ribchester, Lancashire, England
Joseph Norcross - Child of James Norcross (Weaver) & Elizabeth
Living in Ribchester
Baptised by: W Latimer
