Hi Tony,

I hope you will understand that I am going to ask a Moderator to move your request to the Australian board so that it can be noticed there.

Many Cheers,  JM (a frequent RChatter on the Aussie Board).

And in the meantime  :)  :)

It is possible to purchase an image of his death certificate frpm Victoria BDM for AUD$17.50 and immediately download from
https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=purchaseImage  You need a plastic card at that link.

The online index  shows your chap’s d.c. information as Booyong, Victoria, he was aged 71, his parents were recorded as Jas HARVEY and Mary GOURLEY.  The ref no. 6390 is significant if you use it when downloading.   The online index also shows his marriage (1857) . The reference for that cert would seem to be 3552.

Also, at the National Library of Australia’s website, “Trove” there’s this marriage announcement from the newspaper (The Argus) of 3 Nov 1857.

and from that same paper, but 3 Jan 1924 there’s this obit for his widow, giving lots of family history information
