Title: shop in heckfield rd. shrewsbury in 1901
Post by: mollymandysb on Monday 10 October 11 15:09 BST (UK)
can anyone tell me if there are any records of a shop or something.

my great grandmother on the 1901 census was a provision dealer - own account, they lived at 61 heckfield road, shrewsbury.

just wondering if there are any records to show whether they had a shop or dealt with from their front room.

thanks

molly

I don't know Heckfield Road but in a directory from 1899 a James Partridge is listed as a shopkeeper at 61 St Michael's street.

I think that Number 61 is an end of terrace building in a row of buildings that used to be called Heckfield Place.
