I am trying to find an obituary for Elizabeth (Betty) Duff Burns. She was born in Ayrshire Scotland in 1920. She married an American serviceman Charles Rinehart in 1944 in Ayrshire. In 1946 she travelled to the USA on the Queen Mary as a war bride and joined Charles in Indiana. The marriage didn't last long and I believe she was divorced as Charles remarried in 1949.
I haven't been able to find anything else about Elizabeth until her death in 1988 in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. She was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs under her maiden name Elizabeth Burns, so it looks as if she never remarried.
I think my only hope of finding out what happened to Elizabeth between her marriage and her death is to track down an obituary but I've had no success so far. Can anyone help?

Hello Glendaveny.
If nothing else pans out on here. Have you tried the RAOGK volunteer for El Paso - 2 nd on the link below says " I will take still photos of graves and do obituary lookups for Colorado Springs" - could this be worth an e-mail ???

According to the info on the link below Elizabeth has no tombstone but hopefully there may be an Obituary.

Hello! I live in Colorado and would be happy to look up the obit in the archives for you on my next trip to the library. Can you give me more information such as date of death?

That would be brilliant - thank you so much for the offer.
Elizabeth Duff Rinehart nee Burns died aged 68 on 29th July 1988 in Colorado Springs and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery on 2nd August 1988. Unfortunately, there is no headstone. The burial record for the cemetery only gives her maiden name and we believe she had been seperated or divorced from her husband Charles since at least 1950. So any obituary is more likely to be under the name of Burns rather than Rinehart, although anything is possible. I'm afraid we don't have any address in Colorado Springs.

I am so sorry but your reply went into my spam box and I just now received it. I'll be at the library this weekend and will let you know what I find out.
