Can anyone help me by looking up a marriage for a James Aston and Margaret in Benthall (Broseley?) early 1700s? They had a son James baptized 17 Sept 1714. Also, any of James junior's siblings' baptismal records?
Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony
There's quite a large mixed bag of Aston's in the late 1600's to early 1700's.
No evidence of a marriage for a James Aston and Margaret in Benthall/Broseley.
I have found a baptism for James Aston, Benthall, 17 Sept 1714, as you have (family search).
The only other possible sibling is a George Aston of Benthall/Broseley, 10 Aug 1716, bap. (sic), (no parents cited), Broseley PR. This is also borne out on the IGI, again no parents cited.
There may be separate Benthall register/s that contain James senior's marriage details, unless they married elsewhere.
There is a marriage between a James Aston & Hester (Esther) Hare in 1724, but that would be too late, by your dates.
There is a James Aston bap. 23 July 1702, s. of Thomas Aston and Margaret, (BPR) - though doesn't fit in with your dates, and possibly too early to be James senior. There is another James Aston bap. 15 June 1702 Benthall, parents James and Gertrude.
I think it would be pointless citing any further entries, it would just be more confusing.
Unsure if any of this will help.
Regards
Geoff

Ooops! I meant, 1702 may possibly be too late for James senior.
