Hi
Have you checked the 1901/1911 censuses which are free to search at www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search
Have you checked for their marriage to establish MJ's full christian names and age on marriage?
https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1&countryId=1927084
When was their first child born - a copy of the birth cert will give MJ's christian name and will help with an approximate marriage year

Hi,
I can find the marriage of a John Sinclair Watson to Mary Jane McCormick on 20 May 1917 in St. Annes Church of Ireland, Shankill, Belfast. The fathers' names were William Henry Watson and Robert McCormick.

Not sure,
the middle name Sinclair has never been mentioned, I am not saying its wrong, just never heard it mentioned. It was alway William John or John William but like I say could be, Thank you

Nonsense- what dates are you talking about? There are several options, depending on the period. See this topic for more details-

Sarah,
My children, who think that they are English even though my son was born in Scotland, are constantly reminded that even if you are born in a stable it does not make you a horse!! However my constant reminders appear to have no effect.

With the exception of some fragments, all the Irish censuses prior to 1901 have been destroyed.

Hello
I have found a Robert McBlain married to a Christian Watson who had a child die in 1771. The child was called Jane and they had another child, also Jane, in 1775. I cannot find any info on Christian. I have found a Leonard Watson who had Robert McBlain as an executor to his will ...... I wish I could find out more about the watson branch in this connection.
