hi all,
a friend of my has being trying to piece together his family history, they are whytes of athaboe co laois, they lived at the grange there form 1870`s when i believe the house was built by robert whyte who was a retired army general, and had as young man been a company captain at the charge of the light brigade, any help would be most welcome,no matter how small

Whites have their own private plot with it's own wall and entrance gate in the back of Aghaboe graveyard . it contains 3 or 4 graves as far as i can recall . one the whites was a JP (judge) local petty sessions around the 1900's and a District councillor to as far as i can recall
