Hi,
I have that John Thomas FINCH, who married Catherine Probart in Clerkenwell, as being born in Putney in 1788. I am descended from his sister Elizabeth. I have no burial for him and he is not found in Putney. That might be another link worth following.
Best wishes,
Adrian Finch

Hi Adrian, thanks for your post. I believe I now have the details of John's death and burial. He was registered as John Thomas Truel by the coroner as he was 'Found dead in bed without marks'. According to the death certificate, he was a carpenter, age 70 from 5 Norman Street in the parish of St Luke City Road. He died on 5 Dec 1857. He was buried in Victoria Park Cemetery on 11 December as John T Finch. I believe him to have come from Chipping Ongar because of the 1851 census. Anyway, I hope that helps with your tree :)
Best wishes
