Title: Marriage Record - Harold Bernard Bartlett & Betty McMenamin
Post by: markdrogers99 on Friday 30 September 11 16:01 BST (UK)
I was hoping someone could help. I am trying to locate my grandmothers sister, Betty Frances Annie Duffy (born Sep 1919), and her family. Betty married Hugh James McMenamin in January 1941 though Hugh died in Aug 1945. During their marriage they had a daughter, * who was about six months old at the time Hugh died.

My father seems to remember Betty remarrying Harold Bartlett as they would both, wit Joy, visit her sister Ena in Sydney during the early 1960's. Ena Rogers, my fathers mother, passed away in July 1965 (at age 40) and my father never saw Betty, Harold and Joy again.

Can anyone help me track down any records of Betty and Harold Bartlett (marriage/death)? I understand that Betty also may have gone by Elizabeth as well.  I am also particually interested in tracking down * (known as * to my father) though unsure if she went by McMenamin or Bartlett and I would assume she also married!?

Any help would be truely appreicated.

Mark

Unfortunately we are not allowed to mention names of people who may still be living or are recently deceased, as seems the case in your inquiry.
Sorry I can't help you.

Hi Amber39 - thanks for the heads up.

I appreciate not being able to provide any information on *, though as Betty and Harold were born 1919 and 1905 respectively, I would likely believe they are deceased.  If a marriage/death certificate is available it would help me put the puzzle together.

It's possible that Betty could still be alive (I know many people this age and older who are still alive and well) so if anyone can help with recent family details it's best to use PM (Personal Message) rather than posting online.

Where did all these births marriages and deaths take place?

I cannot see that 1941 marriage that you refer to?

Carol

Added- ah I see that Betty F A Duffy was born in Devonport in Dec 1919,but from your other postings it would seem as though the family emigrated.
If that is the case then maybe this would be best being moved to the Australian board?

Hello Jo  :)

Welcome to Rootschat!

New members need to make 3 postings before they can use the Personal Message facility, so if you just reply to this post, you should be able to send a PM!

Kind Regards

You can click on his name to contact him.  But you need to have made three posts.   An answer to this would be one.   And then say post another one, with maybe just a couple of smilies in it.

Note: new topic merged with existing one
