Title: Birkenhead burials
Post by: Newark Hill on Thursday 29 September 11 20:50 BST (UK)
I am looking for the burial plots of my G/Grandparents. James Thompson d. 1913 and buried in a public grave in Flaybrick Cemetery section 7 grave number 437 and Mary Ann Grayson d 1894 and buried in a public grave in Bebington Cemetery section F grave number 362. I've visited both sites but couldn't find the plots. Does anyone have maps showing the positions of these public graves. Thank you.

Hi

As public graves are unmarked - it's mainly down to looking for actual headstones in those sections which will have the number on the back of them.  You can then trace backwards/forwards using those numbers.

All you will see is a gap between graves.  Possibly somewhere below the grass etc there may be a brick with the number on it but that is rare
