Title: Ragin or Reagan / Dugan
Post by: Travlet on Wednesday 28 September 11 21:43 BST (UK)
Hi,
having looked back as best I can into my family history in Ireland, I may have found a baptism record for my gr gr grandfather - Michael Dugan. It is from Coolboy, Carnew, WIcklow, 28 Feb 1819, Roman Catholic faith, father Michael and mother Ann Kennedy. Where are these records kept - Dublin possibly? I would also like to find any possible information about his wife, Catherine Ragin or Reagan. We have DofB ranging from 1812 to 1814. We believe they married in Ireland where they had 2 boys, Michael and Andrew, before they moved to England. Where should I look to find any information?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Travlet

just wondering how you managed to connect your Michael with this one in Wicklow without finding the marriage or the baptism of the two children ?

Your previous thread said he was born in somewhere named 'Bottradon' ... see : Raven / Dugan (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,556436.msg4091666.html#msg4091666)

On the 1861 census it says he was born in bottradon (doesn't exist). On Irish roots a distant cousin found a Michael Dugan baptised in Wicklow in feb 1819, same year of birth. Might be same person, might not. Have also been in contact with a library of records in Aarmagh. They hold records for portadown, moy (another lead from distant cousin) and blackwatertown ( suggested by library in Aarmagh). Because we have had no luck in Aarmagh, we thought we'd explore this one. Hope this helps,
