Hi :)
I think that this might be the marriage:
1868, Kilmarnock (GROS ref 597/68)
Robert Neil and Lilly Kellahin Mahalm
Putting in very little is often the best way with SP ::) ;D

Agreed - I searched and found it by inserting *Neil* Robert and M*h* Lil*. Wildcards work well at SP.

I didn't even put a surname in for Lillias - just Lil ;D and I used surname variants for Robert - a new option since the revamping and it works very well with surnames that can be spelled in many different ways.
So my search went
Neil (variants)
Rob
<blank surname>
Lil

I was very excited to read your post. I did research a few years ago because I too am related to this family. Robert and Lillias Neil of Kilmarnock are my great grandparents. Their son Joseph was my grandfather. He moved to Swansea in South Wales, where he married my grandmother. My own mother was also given the name Lillias! I would be happy to share any information I have.

Hello Scotty,
Did you get the marriage certificate of Robert Neil, and Lilias Mahalam. If you remember last September, i assisted you with some information regarding Minnie Mcneice. Several years ago i also tried to assist Welshgirl, giving her the marriage date of Robert Neil, and Lilias, plus some census data, I then asked her who were the parents for Lilias, ie was it Joseph Mulholland, and Helen Kellahin.
If you have received the marriage certificate could you let me know if her parents were alive at the time of marriage 1868. it should tell you this information on the document, also Joseph's, occupation.
Also how far prior to marriage have you got.
Regards,
Jonn.
