... and here is a link to my study of Victorian and Edwardian studio photographers in Derbyshire.
Derbyshire Photographers & Photographic Studios (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~brett/photos/dbyphotos.html)
I have the names, addresses and dates for over 400 different artists indexed alphabetically on the site. I also have more detailed biographical profiles for well over a hundred of these photographers, together with examples of their work. This collection is intended to be an aid for genealogists and family historians to use in dating their own old family photos, and perhaps identifying the subjects.
If you have any old photos and would like to share them, I am always looking for images to add to the collection. For details of how to get in touch and contribute an image, click here (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~brett/photos/dbyphoto_profiles.html#Contribute).

Try the then and now page
http://www.derbyphotos.co.uk/thenandnow/page01.htm
The pictures are very effective in that they fade between two different periods of the same place
