Title: TURK 1841/ 51 look up
Post by: buttercup on Tuesday 27 September 11 04:49 BST (UK)
Hi all!

am wondering if someone can look up the following family for me

Joseph TURK approximate age 54 (b. 1787)

With wife Elizabeth TURK

I'm fairly confident they're residing near Withyham, at least that's what Familysearch indicates.

Possible children could be Job, lydia, Hannah, Susannah.

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

Regards,
Jen

Thanks for that John,

It seems I may have gone up the wrong tree.

Looking at the Sussex weald site seems to indicate so, but then it makes it all the more frustrating when parent names haven't been included on certificates (unusual when the certificates are Australian).

Never mind, I will continue poking around and see if I can gather soem more firm evidence before going on yet another wild  goose chase!

Thanks for all your help tho, much appreciated :)

You have a Joseph Turk marrying an Elizabeth Sendall (Hartfield 1810).  Do the children's sequence of birth years correlate with that or are they a little later?  I ask because the children's names seem to have a similarity to those of a Joseph & Elizabeth Turk of Cowden, Kent, (IGI Batch C130993) but all seem to have been born 10 years after the above marriage date.  Job baptised 1823, Lydia 1825, Susannah 1831.
Could there have been any elder siblings born Sussex with the more frequently used names like John, William or Thomas?
