Title: Companies
Post by: Raspay on Monday 26 September 11 10:47 BST (UK)
I am looking for company records for a London company Marshall & Rose that existed from 1900 until 1930.
Where do I go for these?

The piano-making company?
I doubt that there is a central repository for records, to be honest.
Try the local archives for wherever they manufactured, and announcements in newspapers.

The company name seems to have been "Sir Herbert Marshall & sons"
http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/search has a little info from the early 1930s about when the company was wound up.

Since further "Marshall & Rose" pianos appear to have been made after the company was wound up, it may be that the company records ended up with whoever bought up the rights to the name.

It depends a bit on what you mean by "company records". For private companies, survival of records like employee lists are not good. The National archives has a couple of hits on this company but I think they are legal records and will probably be to do with finances/creditors/legal issues around the winding up with very little mention of individuals.

books.google.com has quite a few references to "Sir Herbert Marshall" himself, and also his sons Herbert A and Ernest.
He was Herbert Joseph/Joseph Herbert and appears as Joseph H. on some censuses.
