I am looking for information about the Ffrench family who lived at Elmhill, Moylough, Co. Galway throughout the 19th Century and before.
Specifically, I would like to get a date of birth for Marcella Ffrench, youngest daughter of Francis J & Elizabeth Ffrench of Elmhill.
Marcella was born around 1868 to 1874. She married Thomas Davis O'Carroll from Tipperary in 1895 Her siblings were Mary (born 1861),
Edward (born 1863) Elizabeth (born 1864) and Charles (born 1868).
I found nothing for Marcella in all the official records (Church & State) but have got some details on her siblings.
Can anyone help please !!

Thanks very much for information about Marcella Ffrench. I have found the Census references etc. but am hoping to find something about her earlier life.

Francis Ffrench and Elizabeth Tobin
Eliza Ffrench 5th October 1864 Galway
Charles Ffrench 6th October 1868 Galway
These seem to be the only 2 of their children that I could find !
I also saw Francis Ffrench death 1905

Thanks Tara, yes I did find these two children of Francis and Eliza, also Mary born 1861 and Edward born 1863. I am really looking for Marcella, the youngest daughter, as she is the direct link to the family I am researching.

a little older than the dates you mentioned - but there a birth of an unnamed female French listed in the correct district in 1864...

It's one of only three French/Ffrench birth registrations in the district between 1864 and 1880... the other two being Charles and Eliza.

just looking at the reference numbers - the page number that Female birth is listed on is the one after the one that Eliza is on (420) - maybe a twin ?

and in 1870 in Ballinasloe there is a registered birth of a margaret E M A FFrench
