Title: Help with date of death

Hoping someone can help me. How can I find an exact date of death of a relative? I have tried several website (some with payments) and none can give me the exact date of death that I will need to purchase his death certificate and hopefully find out where he is buried. Details are below:

James Currie
Born: 15 January 1895
Born in Tardree, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
Died in Wayne, Michigan
Date of death September 1983.

I have his SSN number also.

Would appreciate any help as I am fed up paying for websites that promise me details and I end up with the same information that I can get from free websites.

The Michigan death index gives his date of death as 5 Sep. 1983 in Detroit.

Forgot to add to previous post if it tells you where he is buried etc?

I'm sorry, I misread it - Detroit was his last place of residence, and his place of death was St. Clair Shores, Macomb Co., Michigan.  The only other information on it is birth date, death date, and gender.
