Hello Roots Chat people,
I've been dying to get my peepers on the Death Notice of Henry Heldon FARMER. I have been living overseas and haven't had the opportunity to look it up myself. His he Death Notice was published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 31 May 1973. His name may have been misprinted as Holden and instead of Heldon
If anyone out there happens to be looking up the Sydney Morning Herald micro fiche could you please tell me what it says in his death notice. I'm very interested in any names that may be mentioned.
thank you if anyone can help :)
kind regards,
Eloise

Wow, thanks Ros I had no idea Google had this. It's very useful to know about. However, I'm baffled to discover that I can't find his death notice ??? I got the details about it off the Ryerson Index and it's always proved accurate. So I'm a little confused as to why I can't find him in that issue.
Will have to keep looking and thanks again to bringing this Google service to my attention :)
kind regards,
Eloise

Hi Eloise,
I've been trying to see it as well. There's a trick to seeing beyond the given images which I don't know. Last time Judith managed to see one (similar situation) so I'm hoping she tells us the info (and the trick).
By the way on other issues you can see the last page of previous issue on next issue. But when I look at June 1 it seems that this doesn't apply. It's frustrating to think that info is so close and yet ...
regards,
Ros

There's a Dorothy buried at Woronora Cemetery:
Dorothy Jean HELDON Memorial Henry Kendall Gardens - ROSE GARDEN 13 - 0138 25-2-2006
She was married to one Ossian Heldon, who is also at Woronora.
Stupid me! I was looking up Heldon as the surname. ::)

Do you have the deaths and burial places of Henry's parents? I've found them if not.
Is there anything else in particular you'd like on the family?
Jamjar
-
660/1900 Samuel T father Samuel and mother Ada Emily in SYDNEY
299/1903 Henry H - same as above
Jamjar
-
Eva is Samuel's wife, so whose wife is Dorothy? ???
Jamjar

If James and Allan are the brothers of Gladys, neither of them married a Dorothy.
All sorted: Dorothy is the sister of Gladys.

Thanks guys.
It does appear that the Google SMH archives are very patchy.
Debbie many thanks! You have answered a question I've been pondering about: Did Henry Heldon Farmer have children? That death notice suggests that he didn't have children - you think they would have been mentioned if they did. Likewise for his brother Samuel Theodore Farmer - it doesn't mention any nieces or nephews.
Brother Henry H and Samuel T Farmer are part of family who I am researching extensively. I have been trying to find decedents from every branch of the family. They are one of the two final branches of which I am yet to contact someone: Samuel Louis Farmer and Emma Mary Noseda (nee Fama/Farmer). So if there is anyone out there interested in the name Noseda I can probably help ;D
Henry H Farmer's parents and the like I already know, but Jamjar you have fast fingers. If you can find the death of Samuel Theodore Farmer or his wife Eva May Weir I'll be stunned! :o
thanks for everyone's help ;)

I happily went off and did the Roeder side. Do you have all of them, also.

Which states have you looked for Samuel T, in?

Only NSW. I know he lived there up until 1954. After that I don't know!
