Greetings to all,
I am searching for descendants of George Hogg born around 1789 in Clackmannan, Scotland died about 1859 & wife Jacobina/Robina Fotheringham born around 1797, died 1864 in Clackmannan. They were married about 1821 and lived at Kennet Village as shown in the 1851 Census.
We think George & Jacobina/Robina may have had the following children.
1. Jean Hogg, b.1821
2. George Hogg, b.1824, married Mary Ann Landers Parrington 1856, Melbourne Australia
3. Thomas Hogg, b. 1827
4. Isabella Hogg, b. 1828, migrated to Melbourne 1854, married: unknown?
5. Jane Hogg, b. 1834
6. James Hogg, b. 1836
7. Margaret Hogg, b. 1838
8. Robina Hogg, b. 1840
9. Ann Hogg, b. 1845
In 1854 George Hogg and his sister Isabella Hogg migrated to Melbourne.
We need some help please to find out who the remaining children listed above were married to, and if they had any children or if grandchildren were born?
Kind regards,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I believe this George Hogg from Clackmannan & Jacobina Fotheringham are my great-great-great grandparents.
Their son George William Hogg & Mary Ann Landers Parrington (my g.g.gparents) married in 1856.
They had 8 children, starting with my g.g.gfather George William Hogg.
This George & his wife Catherine had 6 children, ending with my g.father Thomas.
Those 6 produced 14 children (incl. my father George),
who in turn had 24 children (incl. me),
who have so far produced about 14 children (incl my child) :)
I do have some pictures of George & Mary Ann & their children, as well as George & Catherine & their children (all passed now).
Would love to know how this fits in your family tree!
Cheers,
Beck

my gg grandmother was Ann Hogg born in 1844 and she married Peter Skirving on the wedding cert it says that her father was George Hogg and mother - Mary Hogg - maiden name Hill and they were from Kennet Village in Clackmannanshire. In the 1951 census there is an Ann Hogg who is 6 and grand daughter of George Hogg and Jacobina Hogg - and I suspect this to be my gg grandmother. If so the George Hogg who went to Australia is my ggg grandfather but can't find proof -- not sure whether I am right or not. Does anybody have any clues for me.

Hi Susankay, I am a relation of George Hogg and Robina Fotheringham.
In my search today I discovered Ann Hogg & Peter Skirving had about 9 children in Scotland between the years 1868 to 1885. (Catherine, Mary Ann, Margaret, John, George, Anthony, Peter, Isabella and Thomasina)
I noticed your original post referred to "In the 1951 census there is an Ann Hogg who is 6 and grand daughter of George Hogg and Jacobina Hogg", I wondered if there is a chance you meant to type "In the 1851 census there is an Ann...."
So if you'd like to PM direct and share the certificates you have relating to Peter & Ann Skirving nee Hogg, when I have more time I can dig further into her family link to see if and where she fits, if that suits you.
I find being able to see all the data on the old certificates really helps me greatly when trying to build family links from the past.
Regards,
Stephen

Hi Beck
I am certain that George Hogg is my 3xgreat grandfather as well as he appears to have had a daughter in Scotland before going off to Australia.. do you have a copy of Mary and Georges wedding certificate - what was his status .. does it say he was widowed by any chance?
