Title: conroy Patrick born about 1836 County Kildare

I would appreciate suggestions as to  the best way to search for my ancestors in Ireland.  My great grandfather Patrick Conroy born  Maynooth (we think) in County Kildare about 1836.

 He married Mary or Margaret Martin about 1857 before leaving Ireland to emigrate to Tasmania Australia.

His brother Joseph Conroy followed later. Married to Mary Ann (nee Byrne) from Wicklow.
