Title: 22nd (The Cheshire) Regiment, 2nd Battalion
Post by: noytd on Thursday 15 September 11 12:21 BST (UK)
I was just wondering if anybody had any information about this regiment covering the period of 1858 until 1879? Also doeshave any pictures of a Privates uniform from this era for the regiment?

Here is a link to another post that covers my 3x great grandfather Richard Emmett who served in the regiment.

Hi noytd, I dont know if you are able to make it, but would recommend visiting the 22nd regiment museum. You can see a lot of the uniforms on display, & contains a variety of information up to the present day:

There is also a book for the British army around that time but haven't found a link as yet. It may be worth having a search for. You can find it in waterston*s etc

Sorry I have nothing concrete for you but hope this helps,
