Title: Wiltshire family
Post by: jarlotte on Monday 12 September 11 10:29 BST (UK)
I am looking for the baptism record of a William Harvey Wiltshire he was born about 1808 in Uxbridge Middlesex, I have looked on the Ancestry website in the Uxbridge baptism records but their are no records for any members of the Wiltshire family. He married an Elizabeth Branch on the 10th November 1833 in St Johns Hillingdon, one of the witnesses was a Joseph Wiltshire, which could be his father or maybe a brother.
I would be grateful for any help. Thank you
Julie

+ various lodgers

and then in 1861 RG9 3 154 22 and living at the same address

William Wiltshire Head mar 50 but now gives his place of birth as Ly?? (sorry cannot make this out ???) Berkshire

maybe worth investigating further?

Regards

Hi Julie
Would that be 1833 not 1933 for the marriage?

Thanks

The marriage (yes it is 1833)  and the childrens christenings give his Christian name as Hervey/Harvey.

Thank you everyone for your replys. I have altered the marriage from 1933 to 1833!.
I have found the family in the census records, although I did not notice that he had given another birthplace in the 1861 census so I will go back and have another look and see if their is a William or Harvey Wiltshire baptised in Berkshire. I also have found the baptism records for his children that gives his name as Harvey and not William, but in the death records it gives his name as William Harvey Wiltshire. So I have been checking for both names.
Thanks everyone again

Hi Tinam
Thank you for your reply but in the 1851 census Henry is living at home with his parents in Paddington. In the 1871 census he is still living at home and is unmarried, I cannot find him in the 1881 census. So I am unsure what
happened to him after that.

William Harvey Wiltshire had 6 children and the only one I have been able to trace after they left home is Emily Ann born 1844, she is my husbands Great Great Grandmother, she married a George Dobbins on the 14 Aug 1872 in Cardiff. Emily did have one illegitimate child Louisa born 1867 in Paddington. She went on to have 9 more children with George they were all born in  Wales.

Thank you once again for taking the time to try and find anything about William and his family, because as yet I do not have any clues as to what happened to Emilys siblings.

Thanks Julie for the correction.
1851 there is quite an age gap between Henry 14
and Emily,Julia and Edward 6,4,1yr.

Worth looking into??

Hi Tinam

Henry was baptised George Henry on the 11 sep 1836 in Uxbridge, then their was Thomas 31 Oct 1839, Frederick William 9 mar 1842, Emily Ann 22 aug 1844, Louisa 26 feb 1847 and lastly Edward 8 feb 1850, so their is not much of a gap between all the children, but thank you once again for you reply.

Have you tracked this family back further?  It's just that I have some Willsher/Willshiers of earlier date in Essex

Hi Julie :)
Thanks for info about other kiddies.
I wonder where they were in 1851 if not with parents?
Have a great weekend.
