There is this one, in 1901  his  first name as you can see is missing as its down just  as J Vinall.

RG13/925/40/15

Head is Thomas Vinall 50 Bricklayer b Brighton.

I just have a hunch that this is the right one, thats why I need to find the parents.

Thanks for helping

But the problem is that, according to FreeBMD, these are the only male Vinall births in Brighton c 1884:

September 1883  Vinall, William Henry
September 1884  Vinall, Frederick
June 1885           Vinall, Stephen
December 1885   Vinall, male

And that Frederick matches the one I found in 1891?

Of course, the only way to get a definitive answer is to buy the birth certificate! ;D

There is also this registration:
Male Vinall registered in the 4th quarter of 1885 in Brighton, Sussex, 2b, 234

Added after...  Oops, I didn't read KGarrad's post right through to the end, so I have just duplicated part of their response.

This is the one that is recorded as J in the 1901 with father Thomas.

It would appear that my family members memory is not all that good  ;D

Need to explore further, now thinking he was not born in Brighton, but Sevenoaks  ::)
