After coming to a dead end on my own family tree, I (stupidly!) offered to see what I can find of my cousin's husbands family. He gave me a list of names but NO dates and is now on holiday for 2 weeks, my ancestry subscription runs out in a week!
I'm trying to find his great-grandparents.
The information I have got is:
George Lawton, born 1928, mother DULSON
The only female DULSON I can find that is around the right age to be George's mother, is Alice Dulson born 1894 and daughter of Louisa and Richard. Born in Shelton.
So I tried to find a marriage record for DULSON & LAWTON and found one for Alice Dulson and ??? Lawton who married 1926. So I'm pretty certain Alice Dulson is George's mother.
Now, I can't find any record at all of George's father. Can anybody help please???

If you click on the page number on the freebmd entry - it shows husband as Fred Lawton
-
Without more info about Fred - your relative is going to have to buy a copy of the 1926 marriage cert to get his age and his fathers name
Freebmd has a Fred Lawton b 1894 Stoke on Trent which may be a possibility but there is also one in 1893 in Newcastle under Lyne and another in 1894 in Congleton so it's anybody's guess really

Hi
UKBMD http://www.staffordshirebmd.org.uk/cgi/marrind.cgi gives the marriage as taking place at Christ Church Fenton, perhaps one of the fantastic Rootschatters has access to this information
