Hi can anybody help with my research into my great grandfather Heinrich Weidig . According to the 1891 census he was born in Weinsdorf Germany around 1855 .I have his marriage certificate from 1882 that states his father as August Weidig ,deceased , a schoolteacher . The marriage was held at the Peter Bohler Chapel in St. George in the East according to the rites of the German Wesleyans . Any help please regards John

Do you have a region of Germany for Weinsdorf ?.....some sites may only have the region and not the actual town ....
there are about 100 familytrees for Weidig on www.geneanet.org in Germany , but none shown as being from Weinsdorf , but a lot are given as the particular region ...ie Saarland ,Germany....I have spotted a couple of trees from people in the USA ...maybe you could contact them to see if they have any info ...click on the username on the extreme left of the tree to obtain an e-mail address
good luck

Hi Alan I have seen the record in the IGI but assumed he died in Of Reichenbach,Reichenbach, , , Sachsen as this comes in the death line . As for which region Weinsdorf is in ,there is ,or was, two Weinsdorf, district Rochlitz [Saxonia] and Weinsdorf, district Morungen [East Prussia]. I will have a hunt round www.geneanet.org . Thanks for your help regards John
