HI All
Looking for two marriages possibly in Northumberland.
1. Thomas Bulman (Bapt. Whitley near Hexham) 6 July 1788. Looks like he married Margaret Born abt 1790, also Hexham), tried the BT but can't seem to come up with anything.
2. Also mentioned on another thread in Northumberland group, Thomas Taylor (b. abt 1806,Burton, Northumberland) married Martha (b. abt 1807 newcastle).
Checked the free sites, ancestry etc, but can't seem to find them.
Hope someone can help.

A possibility:
Thomas Bulman & Margaret Hodgson, 30th May 1812 at Slaley.
-
Hi Jen B
Thanks for that, it all seems against me at the moment. BT for 1812 marriages in Slaley look as if they are missing :(
Looks like I'll have to venture out to woodhorn......

Hi Trish
I didn't have those, but it looks like they could be the family.
Over in the general Northumberland group, Jen B and others helped me with this family a couple of weeks ago. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,549299.0.html
They found a baptism for john Bulman in the Ryton Parish Registers which also stated New House, which seems to be the farm they lived on near chopwell (Milkwell Burn).
So before John they were at the church in whittonstall, in fact I have a William (abt 1825), Elizabeth (abt 1829) and Joseph (1833) that I haven't found.
Thanks for the info.

You have got Joseph on the link I posted above - that whole thread was all about him ;D

William Bulman, 30th October 1825, Ebchester. Parents Thomas and Margaret.
Elizabeth Bulman, 25th December 1829, Ebchester. Parents Thomas and Margaret.

oh Man.. ;D
Why are there so many Thomas's and Joseph's, john's and William's in my trees? If only they were more original with the naming of children.
Need to sit down and make sure I get all of this down on paper, computer programmes make collating the info nice and easy, but its still difficult to picture how it all fits together.
At least in generations to come they will have Charlene's, Mercedes, and all of the "new" made up names to distinguish family. :-X

On the Baptism entries for both William and Elizabeth at Ebchester on the Durham Bishops transcripts it states that their abode is New House in the Parish of Ryton, and that their father was a labourer.
-
Have you got John's baptism at Ryton, 25th February 1821?
-
yep, got that one and that's the one I got confused about and was only really looking at he ryton registers when they seem to have been in the ebchester ones.
Again, thanks for putting me right.

What about Jacob, 1827 ;D
-
Jacob, Jacob? where did he come from ???? ???
no, yet another one.

Burial, Ebchester, Jacob Bulman of Milkwell Burn, 4th January 1841 aged 13

Whittonstall Baptism:
Jane Bulman, born 29 July 1812, baptised 27 December 1812, 1st daughter of Thomas Bulman of Lead Hill, labouring man, P. of Bywell St Peter, by his wife Margaret Hodgson, Native of Hexham.

Thanks JenB
That was just the ticket :), checked the whittonstall register in City library today which gave a little more information about him being native of Salmonfield. This I was then able to link with Thomas Bulman (6/7/1788) baptized in Whitley near hexham s.o. Thomas native of Salmonfield.
There is a marriage between Thomas Bulman and Sarah Brown in 1781 in whitley chapel, but how to see if this is the same Thomas?
Again thanks for the help.
