Hi,
I'm desperately trying to find a birth record for Arthur (Henry) Latham, born about 1862 in Liverpool.
I can find him on the 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 census as well as his marriage (1882) and his death (1929).
However, i cannot seem to find any mention of him before this as all the birth records are quite a few years out.
His marriage cert states that his fathers name was John Latham, a Chemist.
Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Could this be the family in 1861?
65 Radcliffe St Eveton
Henry M Latham H M 51 druggist
Mary A wife 34 bn Bengal
Arthur son 2 bn Liverpool
James Kelly step son 9 bn Liverpool
Mary says bn Singapore in 1881
This would be Henry's first marriage
Marriage: 14 Jun 1836 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Henry Mawdsley Latham - Druggist of Liverpool
Rachel Platt - Spinster of Same Parish
Witness: Ann Catherine Johnson; Thomas Earp
I appreciate you said father John but I thought it was too coincidental a Latham who was a druggist (chemist) with a son called Arthur.

The earliest cesus record I have is from 1881.
The address is number 7 Allcard Street in West Derby. He is listed as being aged 22 and is a Coal Dealer.
He is living with his mother, Mary A Latham. She is aged 55, a seamstress and is shown as being born in Dinapore, East Indies.
Both surnames as spelt as Lathom. There are no siblings, however there is an Emily Brandreth, listed as a Granddaughter (b. 1866)

Hi Gibel,
Confusion is stemming from his marriage where his father is listed as a John Latham? Agreed that the other info (druggist, Mary's birth location) seems to fit

If you like Henry this is his baptism
Baptisms: 24 May 1809 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Henry Mawdsley Latham - Son of James Latham, Gentleman & Elizabeth (formerly Anderton), His Wife
Born: 21 May
Abode: Church Street

Given Henry's age he may have died when Arthur was young and he wasn't sure of his father's name. This happened in one of my families when the son had no recollection of his fatehr's name and just gave what he thought was the name.

Quite probable he's just got the names wrong then, since the occupations match for the Father.
Still seems strange that there are no birth records or matches on 1871 census for him
