Post by: OlgaD on Wednesday 31 August 11 22:31 BST (UK)
I have been looking for Edward Hurst ' birth and could not fine anything, but looking on  one site there was a Edward Hurst born Dec 1839 in West Derby Liverpool, my Edward date of birth was 1841 on the 1861 census, the only other name I have is his father William Hurst named on his marriage certificate to Christiana Matilda Coe. Any thoughts on this !

This could well be him on the 1861 and 1901 census on Familysearch.org.......born 1841 as you say

I suspect he may have been illegitimate

There is an 1841 entry incorrectly transcribed as Edward Kessiet but image is Hurst.  He is one year old and living in Childwall with George Fisher (40) and Elizabeth Fisher (41)

The 1841 census does not show relationships and I can't find him in 1851.
