Title: My elusive Donkins
Post by: kathboon on Wednesday 31 August 11 16:29 BST (UK)
I am keep hitting a brick wall this this, and was wondering if anyone could help me.

Richard Donkin (born c1771 and probably christened at All Saints, Newcastle) married Dorothy Goodfellow (c1772 also probably christened at All Saints) at Stannington on 31/03/1805.
I know these are my ggg grandparents as them and their descendants have been verified by a geneologist as being so.

I am having trouble findind Richard' parents.  The nearest I have come to is a father Robert c1838 and mother Jane Crawford c1842, but I cannot find anything to verify this.

Any help to point me in the right direction would be gratefully appreciated

Familysearch.ord has a Dorothy Goodfellow baptised 30 Jun 1782 Newcastle upon Tyne. Father John Goodfellow.
10 years difference to your entry so is she the same or a possible relative?

Struggling to find anybody else!

The parish baptism record for Richard Donkin baptised N/C All Saints 4 Apr 1771 s/o Robert Donkin, Agent

John Goodfellow was a Mason.

Did they have any children 1805-1812 and where as some parish records give the mother's father's name?

I have verification that this is the same Dorothy.  Apparently her family moved to Stannington with the flax industry.

I have Robert the father as being born at Bolam, but will check your information out to see whether he moved
