Title: Dickensons
Post by: bettyespana on Sunday 28 August 11 13:42 BST (UK)
I am looking for any more information than I already have re:siblings of my Gt Grandfather Joseph Dickenson 1854-1879.

Parents were Miles Dickenson (Primitive Methodist Minister) 1824-1896 & Ann Amelia Harp b.I of Man c 1826.
This is what I have got on their children:
Alexander  b.1851 Hyde (labourer/layman)
Louise Jane b 1852 Birkenhead (I have no further info about Louise)
Joseph b.1854 Chorley d.1879 W.Derby (Railway Clerk/Layman)
Silas b.1856 Oldham(Clerk/Salesman)
Robert Henry b.1858 Northwich (Grocer)

I have a list of all Miles Dickensons ministry stations & it is quite obvious that the children were born in the various places they moved about to.
Both parents died in the Ormskirk reg district Miles 1898 & Ann Amelia 1886.

I would really like to know more about Josephs siblings & their families.
Plus the only thing I know about Joseph is that he lived in Barnet St West Derby.Married Mary Ellen Ball 1875. They had a daughter Margaret Amelia 1878 & Joseph died 1879.
I haven't got his death cert so I don't know his cause of death.I cannot afford to send for certs that
sometimes don't get to me here in Spain.
There is a possibility that before Margaret Amelia was born there was a son born by the name of Alexander.
The lady in the little photograph(Agnes Broadbent) my Grandma is the daughter of Margaret Amelia.
Any info would be appreciated

You seem to know adult occupations, so presumably you have already acquired their census entries as adults. Will you relate them so we can see how far you have got?

You could always go through an intermediary who scans certs to you before they are posted to Spain.

Cost a tad more, but at least you'd get the info.

Just a thought

Thank you ,but being a pensioner & on a limited income
it is not an option for me.
I do however appreciate your suggestion.

These days I have to rely on my info as much as is possible from the lovely people
on the forums.

Kind regards
