Hi Everybody,
Does anybody know where "Lower Street", Michelmersh, Braishfield, Romsey is today? It is named in the 1851 census, but I can't fathom out where it would be today, using Google Street View etc.
Also, how is "Michelmersh" pronounced?
Best wishes,
Dave

If you type in Lower Street, Michelmersh, Braishfield in Google maps you will see Lower Street marked on the map, it starts where Rudd Lane joins Kiln Lane to the west of Braishfield. At the north end it splits into Eldon Road and Paynes Hay road......
Rudd lane leads into Michelmersh.
You can view Lower Street in Street view and see the country road...

www.streetmap.co.uk is also a good website to use for current streets.

Thank you very much Carol. I didn't know about that site. I shall find it and save it to favourites.
Best wishes,
Dave
