Title: Jones of Fronoleu, Thomas of Llan, Trawsfynydd
Post by: scrabblerDMT on Tuesday 23 August 11 10:42 BST (UK)
Hello,

I am looking for information on the farm of Fron Oleu, owned, according to his will by Robert Jones of Trawsfynydd (died 1818) and on the various elements of the Jones family who lived there. Also, on William Thomas, Smith of Llan, Trawsfynydd, and his children, Mary, William and Griffith (who died in 1863).

Many thanks

D.H. Morgan-Thomas

The following census listings might relate to this:-
1841 Fronolan,Trawsfynydd
Ref: ho107/1427/"18/15"/4

1851Fronolen,Trawsfynydd
Ref:ho107/2512/172/12

They are occupied by Jones.
I have not gone further in case I am on the wrong track.Let me know if you need listings and/or further references.
The precision of the name obviously depends upon the skill of the database transcriber and might appear differently in a different data base but the full ref. should be the same.

Further data just in case
1861  rg09/4325/78/17
1871 rg10/5699/54/13
1881 rg11/5552/92/8
1891 rg12/4647/101/13

The 1881 ref is precisely Fron Oleu and the others link via resident names(all Jones with a discontinuity of occupants 1861-1871)
The 1891 listing gives it as Tyllwyd Terrace, with brothers Roger,69 and David ,76 with a servant. I cannot spot it on the 1901 census currently.
