None of those three Carltons are on the Golden Mile though. The Royal Carlton is probably the likeliest to be described as on the Golden Mile.
But you might be looking at another Carlton Hotel that has since been renamed.
Do you have any more information or photos that might help pin it down?

Just had a look at 1969 telephone directory on Ancestry (one of those rather useful but fairly well hidden resources on Ancestry). That gives just
Carlton Hotel, North Prom, Blackpool (that's the Best Western one above)
Carlton Private Hotel (Mr & Mrs D. Park), 64, Albert Rd, Blackpool
not the 343-347 Promenade Royal Carlton, so that's presumably post-1969.
The Albert Road one is really just a B&B and stands out on Albert Road as being tiny compared to its neighbours (see it on Google Street View) and unlikely to have a manageress, I would have thought.
So that leaves the North Promenade Carlton Hotel. That's much bigger and quite an imposing presence, and most likely to have had managers/manageresses for various departments.

Maybe this picture from the hotel website (http://www.bw-carltonhotel.co.uk/) might jog some family memories?

Thank you for your replys
My Mum insists it was on the the Golden Mile I have sent e mails to the 3 Carltons but as yet have had no replys so I live in hope of finding more :)

Unless your mother knows Blackpool well, then it would be quite easy to misremember or conflate memories. After all most people who've heard of Blackpool have heard of the Tower and the Golden Mile, far fewer will have heard of North Shore, North Promenade, South Shore, Revoe etc.
If it really was on the Golden Mile, then it's not one of the three Carlton Hotels mentioned.
As you're "new ta this" you might not be aware that while there is always a kernel of truth in family memory it is often not 100% accurate. For example, I found out that somebody who was supposed to have died as a fighter pilot during the war, actually was in the RAF but only died in 2001. The died during the war story was a smokescreen to explain to young minds why this person wasn't around (in fact he'd run off with another woman!).

I was born and grew up in Blackpool and this is the Carlton Hotel I remember in the 50s and 60s. It's on North Promenade about ½ mile north of the North Pier.

Thankyou for your replys
Mum lived there for most of her life and then moved to Kirkham (where I am from ) I have just spoke to mum on phone and she says it was pulled down when they built Coral Island so Im thinking it was more of a guest house than a "hotel" she says Gypsy Rosy Lee was near Im going to have a google and see if there are any old pictures which may show it :)
Thankyou again for your help

Aha! That makes sense. That would be right at the heart of the Golden Mile.
If you scroll down this page http://www.blackpoolpostcards.co.uk/category/central-beach-promenade/ to the 1960s view, I would guess that it's one of the buildings this side of the red roof.
Might be worth getting in touch with the owners of that site in case they have any of your hotel.
