I would appreciate if anyone in the Clackmannan vicinity might check the inscription on JOHN HALL's monument. He is buried in the Clack Churchyard (born 15 Aug 1797 DIED 17 JUNE 1860). Wish to cfm the maiden name of his wife Margaret. The Clackmannan Council advise their records only go back to 1877. Cheers, Golfer.

I'll try and have a look over the next few days.

I had a short look around the headstones in Clackmannan churchyard. Most of them are weathered or lichen-covered 18th century stones. There appear to be few of around the date you mention, though as I said, it was a short search. Did you mean the burial ground around the kirk itself or Clackmannan cemetery which lies about a mile away?

Hi Pat. As you know, there are a few John/Margaret Hall's of Clack. This is why if the MI of the John Hall who died 1860 included his wife as Margaret McNaughton everything else would fall into place. Cheers, Golfer.

No need to apologise Golfer - it sometimes helps if folk can read through previous info.
