Hello,
This is a photo of my Great Great Grandfather who lived from 1855 to 1911. Unfortunately the print is in a very poor state. It is about A4 size, on card, but the edges are damaged and I can't tell if the corners are round or square.
Any attempts at restoration or dating would be much appreciated!

Simon
He looks to be in his 20s, perhaps early 30s, I wonder if this matches up with the photo/dress date?

I think it has been hand-tinted hasn't it? :-\ ;)

Hi Simon ...One from me also.

Thanks Irene! That's amazing work!!! ;D
Kath, We figured he was about 30, but difficult to judge age in these photos.
Wiggy, I was wondering about the colouring. So would this have been a sepia photo that was hand-tinted at some later date or would they have tinted it at the time of taking the photo?

...and thanks also to Carolyn (didn't see Page 2!!)

Ermmmm :-\ - I hope Prue will come on and answer that one - I just thought it looked coloured - afterwards! ;)
