Title: Posts Freeze
Post by: irishdna on Tuesday 16 August 11 22:11 BST (UK)
Last night and today, two posts froze, so I had to exit, lose my post and rewrite it.  Why does this happen?
Thanks

This has happened to me occasionally.
One time I could see it was about to happen, so I selected and hit the Copy button, then when I got back to the Post reply stage, just dropped it in so didn't have to write it.

Have also often had posts just disappear and the screen flip back to the original topic page.  Then had to rewrite, or abandon!

I wonder if this is something to do with RC or just the internet, or because the site is very busy, or ?????

It is a good idea to write all but very short posts as (say) a word document. Then you have a copy in case of problems. You will also have a better spell checker as well. Once you are happy with your post you can copy it to RC and click on POST.

If you want to use bold, underline etc you have to type [ b]...[/b] and [ u]....[/u] - but without the extra space - as you go, or do once you are back in RC.

Thank you Dawn and Ken, appreciate the help. The second time it happened I copied it and dropped it in the post reply.

I had a spate of short posts hanging on Roots Chat.  I cured it by clearing my browser cache.

Thank you, Nick, good idea.  Clearing the browser cashe is the easiest first step, yet time and again I forget to start there.
