Hi brianz,
Thanks for this, Moderator asked me to delete details earlier for security! The age would be right but, I must now check your ref. as I only knew him for a short while, though he and his are important to us, I losing track on my Posting to Germany in 1960.

As Geoff-E quite rightly points out Balderston is not the registration district, I should have put Lincoln, Balderston is his mothers maiden name.

Thanks all, had realised on re-ckeck of GRO-Ref.  Unfortunatley I only knew her Forename so can't go on this. will now attempt to find his Dad's Marriage and see if I can confirm her then Roy, via? appreciate your knidness to date!
