Looking for any information on the Godfrey family living in Horsley Heath Tipton. My Grandmother was Mary Ann Godfrey born 1885. The family worked on canal boats.

Have you found?

1871 RG10  2996  7  8    Bloomfield Rd, Tipton
1881 RG11  2863  7  9    2 Bloomfield Rd, Tipton
1891 RG12  2284  131  31   Gate St, Tipton
1901 RG13  2736  10  12    Beddow Buildings, New Road, Tipton

Census 1891 - 1911 doesn't include a Mary/Mary Ann . b1885 but all above are Godfreys with a "canal/canal boat" + Tipton association.

Do you have any other info re your Grandmother Mary Ann? What year was she born - was it 1885?

regards

Those are the correct records. Mary Ann was born in 1895. I have her as living with the family at Court 1 H 3 Horsley Road Tipton in 1911 (RG14PN17338 RG78PN1065 RD372 SD2 ED16 SN114)
I have completed quite a lot of research into the family but I am trying to find out more about their connections as boatmen. I live in France so it is difficult for me to research anything that is not online. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

The above identifies possible avenues of research into canal boats and owners
