new to site, not sure if i'm doing this right. I have a wedding photograph given to me by an elderly relative possibly Linthwaite or surrounding area. the relative is from the Shaw/Schofield branch of my family. does anyone recognise it?
-
Can't help you with identification but they look to be quite well-off folks.
The photo gives a really lovely, typically 1920's image, especially the ladies outfits- just beautiful.
PS- your Schofields didn't come from Holmfirth, by any chance?

Yes it does look rather grand.
Schofields were from Linthwaite, but I believe some of the younger generation moved to Holmfirth. will check it out. :-\

just hopping around this site and see you have Mitchells. I have a Wright Schofield married to Lydia Mitchell........

Hello. I don't recognise anyone in the pic but do have a Shaw/Schofield marriage in my ancestry, albeit from 1831. John Schofield of Scammonden married Hannah Shaw, dau of Joseph Shaw, at Huddersfield. They hailed from Slaithwaite, which you probably know is right next to Linthwaite. My Shaws also married into the Sugdens of Slaithwaite.
If it seems relevant do get back to me.
