I'm looking for a gravestone for Joshua Sutcliffe 1722-1802. He was buried at the Moravian Church at Malmesbury. The church building has been on the market recently and the estate agents photograph clearly shows gravestones, however I'm told the seller has blocked entry to the graveyard. Does anyone know if Joshua's gravestone is still there? I live 200 miles away and can't pursue the matter personally.

Hi Sooty Junior
I am also researching Joshua Sutcliffe (my great x 5 grandfather) but live not too far from Malmesbury and will go there to investigate the former church yard and try to find his grave. My last link with Fulneck is my great great grandfather John Sutcliffe being buried there in 1890. His son moved to Hull where my grandfather was born.
I have recently discovered that Joshua's will is in Wiltshire County archives and I am planning to go there to photograph it in the next few weeks.
I will keep you posted

Hi Dotsut
Joshua is my G5grandfather too. My line comes down through Joshua, Nathaniel, John, Edward, Henry, Fred, Muriel (my mother). Henry left Pudsey and moved to Gateshead which is where I lived until I married. I am now near Beverley, so handy for both Hull and Fulneck. The archives at Fulneck are fascinating. If you're on Ancestry you can find some of the information I got from there on my Sutcliffe Damms family tree.
Thanks for your info. I look forward to seeing if you find Joshua's grave.
