Hi there,

Here is my effort. One of the problems you have with the original is that there are a lot of jpg encoding artifacts around the lady's face. This adds to the grain of the image and are tricky to get rid of. If you have a scan in tiff format that would be useful.

Thanks for this - I would have to ask the relative that emailed it to me, perhaps it might better if when i scan my own photos too to save it to a tiff format instead of a jpeg one? Thanks for the advice,

Oh heck, It wasn't me who gave you the advice, it was cogvos. I was the one who was experimenting, I save all mine as jpeg's Pineapple !  :-[ :-[

But, if you didn't have the original there wasn't much you could do with this one, unless of course your relative wanted to scan it again.
