Does anyone know where the Wesleyan registers for Muswellbrook might be held?
I have the transcription of a marriage celebrated at the Wesleyan Parsonage in Muswellbrook in 1893, which contains so little information that it's no help at all, so I'd be interested in tracking down the original registration.
I have tried Newcastle Local Studies, but they have nothing for Muswellbrook, and I can't find anything obvious by googling.

Hi there
Have you checked the Muswellbrook Uniting Church which would be the successor to the Wesleyans ... Humphries St Muswellbrook .... Also there are many Wesleyan Archives at North Parramatta in the former Boys Homes Buildings
Cheers JM

Thanks very much, JM, I'll try them if I can find an e-mail address (unfortunately I'm not in Aus).

Hi there
I think that no matter where in the world you may be located that the Muswellbrook address I posted would receive mail via the postal system. I think it would be sensible to look for a Muswellbrook church register in Muswellbrook. Cheers JM

Well yes, I just thought e-mail would be quicker :)
Anyway, I've tried e-mailing the HQs of the Uniting Church and the Wesleyan Methodists, and if those draw a blank I'll try snailmail to Muswellbrook as you suggest.

Well, you were quite right - I've had a very quick reply to my e-mail from the Uniting Church archives.
They hold the Marriage and Baptism records for the Muswellbrook
Wesleyan Methodist Church from 1884 onwards, and charge a search fee of $26.
If anyone needs a search or more information, this is the address to contact:
Archives Parramatta <archives@nsw.uca.org.au>
Thanks again for your help,
Mary
