Looking for relations/decendents of Arthur and Jane Ellen Ayton (nee Lonsdale died 1934) formally of Eaglescliffe in 1902.
Elsie Ayton (born 1902) married my grandfather Robert Ernest Peat in 1925 and emigrated to New Zealand.
Don't know if she had any brothers, sisters, aunts or uncles.

Hi
If she was born in 1902 - have you checked the 1911 census for details of her siblings?
The 1911 is only available on a pay per view basis
Her parents married in 1889 as per freebmd www.freebmd.org.uk

-
They were in Durham to at least 1924 - check freebmd for Eden births with mothers maiden name Ayton. Cannot post details as children may still be living

Hello
I am a descendent of Arthur and Jane Ellen Ayton. Thier daughter Frances Alice Ayton was my great grandmother. Arthur was the son of James Ayton (often spelt Hayton) and Ann Long, he had 7 brothers and a sister (can supply details if you want them), he was born at Sowerby near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. He married Jane Ellen Lonsdale in 1889 at Middlesbrough. Jane Ellen was the daughter of Richard Lonsdale and Sarah Peat, she was born at Thormanby near Thirsk, she had 2 brothers and a sister, also 2 half brothers and half sister called Ellis. Arthur and Jane Ellen Ayton lived at Alexandria Street in Middlesbrough when they were married, later were at prospect cottage, Eaglescliffe near Yarm, then Mill House, just up the road from there. There children were:
Lilly, Benjamin (who died in WW1), Frances Alice, then 2 daughters both called Annie who both died in infancy, then Elsie and finally Walter. Jane Ellen Ayton died in 1934, me and my mother found her grave at the church in Egglescliffe a few years ago, it was unmarked but now has a small pot with her name on, her 2 baby daughters Annie are in the same churchyard. Arthur went on to re-marry and moved to Melsonby near Richmond, Yorkshire. He died there in 1938. Can supply any other details I have if you wish. We had always been told that Elsie married and went to NewZealand.
Jo Faulkner.

kiwibob, i just thought i would offer myservices if your require any help, i.e. going to a church etc etc or even if you have the address i can go and take a picture for you, i live in yarm! eaglescliffe is walking distance for me.
-
Thanks very much Dawnkaren for the offer and might take it up as I also had relatives from Eaglescliffe on my fathers side as well so have a few family roots in that area. I knew their address and was able to have a look thanks to google maps "street view" and I also had a bit of a virtual tour around Upsall where my great grandmother lived in the late 1800s on 5 acres by herself farming, but don't really know the exact location, but at least I have a bit of an idea as to where she lived.I believe they all could be buried in one of the local cemeteries in Eaglescliffe but not sure which cemetery,I know they were church going people not that that means they are buried in a church cemetery, but I would love a photo of a head stone if one exists.
-
the only church that would have served eaglescliffe at that time was on butts lane eGGlescliffe, however they could have attended yarm parish church which also has a grave yard, their is one last possible place tho and that would be the cemetary on worsall road yarm.
