I did notice that Robert Cooley married Susan Pullen in 1907- so that rules out the last 3 ;D
Also found the death of that Robert Golden Cooley in Green Ponds Tasmania in 1910.
Are you sure he was born in Tasmania,or even in Oz?

Thank you for all your help
I have been looking through Trove, apparently Robert took his own life at his property at Broadmarsh.
I have also been to Cornelian Bay today and found the grave it basically says "Cooley".
I think my best bet is to obtain a copy of there marriage certificate, this should tell me Roberts birth date and place and hopefully parents, being 1907 it should be available at the Tas Archives, is that correct ?
kind regards
-
Hi malayastar,
according to the Cornelian Bay Cemetery CD Robert was aged 67 at his death therefore he would have been born about 1883.
Robert is buried with Susie Bartlett Cooley.Susie died in 1946.

You will be able to get copy of marriage at the tas archives now in the library building in murray street. only problem is that tasmanian cert give very scant info.
have you tried the tasmanian federation index (not online) it has births 1900-1919 also marriages 1900-1930 they have copies at the library and also family history groups. I have my own copy if you need a look up.
if you have the time to travel it might be worth a trip to kempton to have a look at the RC cemetery
i'm out for the rest of the day/night but will check online first thing in the morning to see if you need help

A 1907 Tasmanian marriage certificate should give the names of both sets of parents, fathers' occupations and birthplaces for the bride and groom. These fields were added in 1896. I also thought that post 1900 records were only held by the registry at the Dept of Justice. Some later church registers are held at the archives.

I haves spent hours upon hours looking over cemeteries in Tasmania
I currently live in Old Beach but previous to that Bagdad
My wife is a descendant from The Blake's in the Kempton area hence related to The McKay's and Shearings also, so i know the cemetery in Kempton very well.
My family the Cordwells are from the Derwent Valley and The Huon Valley
my Cordwell convict ancestors travelled up from Hobart and were married in the Church at Bagdad.
My cousin on my mothers side married a Cooley, The Cooley family from Cooley's Hotel and the Cooley's coach business (Robert Todd Cooley)
The Robert Cooley i am after is connected to the Cordwell family
If someone can access the marriage of Robert Cooley and Susie Pullen in 1907 that would be fantastic
Its not blowing here at all, very mild weather indeed
thanks again every one, love this sight and the generous people who use it
kind regads

I would like to thank everyone for their help
I bit the bullet and bought a marriage certificate from BDM Tasmania @ $40
Robert Cooley married Susie Bartlett Pullen on the 3rd of April 1907 at King Street Independent church.
Usual place: Sorell
Roberts’s birth place was Orielton and he was 23
Susie’s birth place was Hobart and she was 22
Roberts’s parents were James Cooley and Annie CostelloSusie’s parents were George Pullen and Amy RossInteresting in the area where it says Conjugal Status it says NEVER VALIDLY MARRIED
According to the TAS Archive sight James parents are Jeremiah Cooley and Christina WhiteJeremiah looks like he was a convict sent to NSW at 15 and then sent on to Tasmania

Glad to see you got to the bottom of the COOLEY by getting a certificate, marriages are often the best as the couple fill it in themselves. Except they like to fudge ages. The "Never Validy married " I have seen on a few certs in Tassie. Not sure why, the first one i saw was a couple that married in there late 30's and i just guessed they had been in a relationship prior to marrying but i've also seen it on younger couples. Bit of a mystery. Good luck with the rest of your hunting.

Jeremiah and Christina Cooley are buried at Richmond Congregational Church Richmond.
