In the picture attached we have a wedding between William Michael Sisson and Rose Dewdney, B:1923, D:1967
Rose has a brother who is Sidney Chamberlain.
Lottie is Rose's mother. Lottie B:1887 and D:1967 in St Michaels Hospital in Enfield.
Lottie has given her surname as Chamberlain on the death certificate, but we are trying to establish her maiden name. On the death certicate it says she was a spinster.
On the wedding certificate of Rose (Dewdney) Sisson, it states her farthers name as Leonard Chamberlain (Deceased).
This means she could have been married to a Leonard Chamberlain?
I cant seem to make the connection and wondered if anyone could give us any more information

Wonder if Rosie and Sidney were illegit ??
Very often a family member is given as father - just to "save face
Sometimes just the forename of father is correct if the child is illegit
Sometimes it is even a made up name
Are you certai Rosie was b 1923?
There is a birth reg
Rosie Chamberlain
mother's maiden name Chamberlain
Mar qtr 1921
Hackney
1b 962
and
Birth reg
Sidney Chamberlain
mother's maiden name Chamberlain
Mar qtr 1916
Camberwell
1d 1466
It would be interseting to see who Sidney gave as his father -and who Rosie gave as her father when she married Leslie H Dewdrey??

Wonder if Rosie and Sidney were illegit ??
My partners father William Mike Sisson passed away March 2011 and never talked about Rose (he never really got over the sudden death of Rose). Rose is my partners mother and she passed away when she was only 9 yrs old. This could be the case that W M Sisson never wanted to discuss the real situation with my partner about her mother

On the wedding certificate of Rose and William, Rose has given her fathers name as Leonard Chamberlain - Deceased
Also, Rose gave her age as 37 years when she got married on the 05th March 1960, which makes her birth date 1923, but my partner was told by her dad, W M Sisson that her mother was born in 1921 ?

I will follow up and look for the above
It would be interseting to see who Sidney gave as his father -and who Rosie gave as her father when she married Leslie H Dewdney??
This is very good detail which I am very keen to follow up, because we are basicly at a dead end
Just speculation:
I found a Sidney Leonard Chamberlain. So everyone called him Leonard, but when the first son arrived they called him Sidney and when the daughter arrived, they called her Rose or Rosie as I have seen on some documents
One bit of information from Lottie's death certificate was that in the occupation section it says:
Canteen assistant - Retired - Spinster which makes me believe that she never married
Rose, Sidney and Lottie we believe was in and around London and the counties around London, so Herefordshire could not be out of the question.
Thanks for the valuable information

Who was the informant on the death certificate???
It seems they knew Lottie was never married
I have some information which may be possibilites -which I will discuss via PM as the persons may be living
If you could just post who the informant at death was

Also - do you know if Sidney was married??
If he was could the mystery lady on the photograph be his wife??
Does the name "daisy" ring any bells???
Who were witnesses at the marriage ?
And did Rosie have a child/children from her 1st marriage???

Who was the informant on the death certificate???
The informant on the death certificate we have is S. Chamberlain - Son of Lottie, from Thornton Heath, Surrey at the time of the certificate (dated 28/09/1967) My partner only knows him as Uncle Sid
It seems they knew Lottie was never married
This seems to be the case
What we also know is that Rose Sisson (Dewdney - Maiden name Chamberlain) had a son with Leslie H Dewdney called Philip. We have a picture of in also in the weeding picture replacing Sidney in the image. She has only seen him once since she was 9 years old and have no idea of what happened to him.
As I said, her father who might have had some information passed away and did not say much.
Thanks a lot for what you have done so far for us.

Hi Suz,
The witnesses at the marriage was a M. E. Goodwin and a L. L. Goodwin
Rosie had a son from her first marriage called Philip Dewdney - my partners half brother
Sidney was married as my partner was a bridesmaid at his wedding. She believes her dad (W M Sisson) a fallout with Sidney because of religion (She believe Sidney was possibly a Jehovas Witness at the time - 90% sure)
Will come back to you on the name Daisy as my partner is at work
Thanks again

Hi Eddie
I noticed that you had put a post out for information on William Dent and his daughter Sarah Annie Sisson. Sarah was married to my great great grandfather John William Sisson.
I'm not sure if you are researching any further down the line, as his daughter Linda Sisson was bansihed to Jersey, which was where I was born.
Please let me know if you would like any further information.
