For your info, Chrimes, Acton Road of 1911 has become AKETON Road now. And the Crown Hotel has had many name changes. It is still open as a pub, but is currently called The Yorkshire Rose.
There are several late Millingtons residing in the cemeteries of the Wakefield Met. District Council area which includes Castleford,Featherstone, Pontefract, etc.

Hope this helps a bit.

David. Sorry to disagree but I have been collating the pubs of Castleford for some time.
The Crown Hotel was actually at the very top of Aketon Road on its junction with Lumley Steet/High Street/Oxford street. (just down from and opposite Hightown Church.
They are both shown on the same map at the same time.
I have been told that when demolished (60's) the name was transferred to the Crown at Airedale along with the "Queens Head" on Albion Street, also demolished.
The Lancashire & Yorks Hotel (I think this was named after the railway company that ran through Cutsyke) eventually ended up just the Yorkshire Rose (now demolished)

No problem, Bob.
Would that be where the used car sales pitch is?
-
Yes on the grassed area at the side of it.
It's sad how many forgotten pubs there are. No pictures of it.
